Biofeedback
Biofeedback is a short-term therapy to help individuals learn healthy responses to stress. It provides information as feedback about physiological reactions (e.g. muscle tension) to stress & to relaxation. Individuals gain increased awareness of their reactions, learn specific self-help relaxation skills to control and retrain harmful reactions as they learn to integrate healthier responses into their daily lives.
Biofeedback has been proven helpful for a variety of physical and emotional problems including: migraine and tension headaches, hypertension, asthma, TMJ, muscle tics and spasms, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and insomnia.
